abby's been exploring lately....

she's going through a phase obviously. i don't even think she knows what sticking her finger up her nose would be used for. haha. but she does it a lot, and sometimes sticks it in her mouth afterwards (with nothing on it)...what the heck, sick! but the weird thing is there are no boogies and she hasn't had a runny nose for months. knock on wood.
abby is certain that the cup holder on the tray is a dicard area for food... this is a major improvment from throwing on the floor, and quite handy, surprisingly. her favorite food is still pickles but she doesn't really like the skins. she loves gushers, broccoli, reces pb cups, pickles, turkey slices, hot dogs, milk in a bottle only, pretles, fried egg whites not yoke or scrambled, water sucked from a freshly soaked tooth brush, otter pops, rice krispy  treats, toast with butter, coke (no we don't give this to her but if she can get her hands on it at grandmas she'll chug it and then BEG for more), flavored rice....etc.
she is very opinionated and knows what she likes and wants. did i mention she is personality type RED just like ME.... i know i'm just scaring future friends off.... but personality types have been on my mind since i've been reading "the people code"  by taylor hartman.

and of course being a red i'm always doing projects and finished hanging these a few days before we decided to move....what ever.
(i know everything i'm posting is random) this is the view from one of tyson's job sites, he's very excited to have a change of pace going to flight school ( which is good for him since he's a white :)).
abby loves to put on make up and jewelry. sometimes i find her in the bathroom with an unclasped necklace on and rubbing her head and face with my blush brush and powder puff. she also loves to put on lotion and brush her teeth... when we're done after like 8 minutes she usually cries because i take the tooth brush away.
gone are the days of playing at the pool a block from our house every day.... so sad. abby loves swimming and being under water doesn't phase her. if we weren't going to be wicked poor next summer, i'd do swim lessons.

BUT on the other hand, Here are the days of going to tanner's football games, which we really enjoy! tyson made that face on purpose because he doesn't appreciate pictures....ha jokes on him, that's all i have so i'll put it up!... AND he won't know for like 4 months because he doesn't read my blog, and he won't care at that point because he's white....hmm.
to abby, moving is all about kicking your feet up in a box just your size and sittin' in front of the fan eatin' your rice krispy treat. ..... i wish moving were that easy for me!

in the midst...

in the midst of all this uprooting of the family and starting to pack boxes and diligently working to finish projects that i don't want to follow me to the new house (i.e. clothes etc that need to go to DI, and a quilt i've been working on for 11 months), I could really use a slice of the magic of christmas. good thing there's only like 108 days till christmas eve. can't wait!!!!
(no you crazies, that's not my house.)

thai food

1 can coconut milk
.5-1 tsp. red or yellow curry paste or I use about 2 tsp yellow curry powder (yellow is more mild)
1 lb chiken in bite size pieces or how ever much chicken you want
3 Tbs. brown sugar
1/4 cup fish (or soy sauce i use soy sauce)
1 Can chicken broth
1 red/green pepper, diced
fresh basil to taste
ANY other veggies: peas, mushrooms, carrots, bamboo shoots or i just add a whole small bag of stirfry from walmart

Mix curry paste/powder with small amount of coconut milk. add rest of milk in saucepan and simmer for 5 min. to combine. add rest of ingredients and simmer for 20 min until chicken is done.
If more curry flavor is needed, remove some of the milk from pan and mix it in, then replace. If less curry flavor is desired use more chicken broth or add a dollop of plain yogurt to individual dish.
Serve with cooked rice.

note:
-this is not like an authentic taste, it is americanized so you should like it.
-it would prob feed five people, with only rice as a side dish.... unless you are Samoan or if anyone in your family eats as much as tyson's sister on the soccer team or brother on the football team.

poppy seed chicken

easy delicious and filling, its one of tyson's favorites!

1 big can or dream of chicken soup (or 2 small cans)
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons poppy seeds (cheapest to buy in bulk)
chicken breasts (boneless skinless, as much as you want or enough to fill 9X13)
1 sleeve of ritz crackers crushed in to dimesized pieces or what ever size you want
1 stick of butter

Pan cook or boil the chicken till fully cooked.
Mix the sour cream and cream  of chicken soup and poppy seeds in the 9 by 13 pan.
put the fully cooked chicken in the 9X13 pan and mix/cover the chicken with the soup mix in the pan.
melt the butter completely in a separate bowl and add the crushed ritz crackers. stir till butter is absorbed.
sprinkle the crackers on top of the chicken with sauce
pu tin the oven at 350 till heated or slightly golden brown on the very edge of the sauce (20-30 minutes)

serve over a bed of rice if desired.

devour.
