chalk festival (did you see all my new posts?)

so in may i went to the chalk festival with my only really awesome friend in centerville area, hannah, and abby's best friend in the whole world bailey. it was in bountiful and they do it every year.... it's on main street where they filmed some of 'the sand lot'. a bunch of artists sign up and draw along the sidewalks, kids can too. it's awesome. one of my students drew the picture that was printed on all the artists shirts.
can you tell they're besties? abby had to hold hands even if it meant leaning over....
i only took a few pics because it was annoying to stop walking
 i will go next year!

the rest of the apartment!

abby's room has crowns on the walls, because she's a spoiled princess

yes those poor toys and baskets are blocking the window out so that abby will wake up at 10 AM instead of 6 AM

our boxspring wont fit down the stairs.... so we have no solution plus this way abby doesn't fall off the bed
she second bedroom is the stroage/ closet/ junk room
the bathroom has no tub
so that's it! we are very happy we found it at such a good deal!

oh ya... our apartment

so here are the long awaited pictures of our apartment we moved into in april. :) it's 3 small bedrooms and 1080 sqft. and our FIRST with a dishwasher and washer and dryer. yay. no it's not usually this clean, probly 2 or 3 days a month. ha.

right when you walk in are the stairs
to the left of the bottom of the stairs is the kitchen

tyson took me to 'color me mine' for my birthday and i made that plate all by myself :)

to the right side of the stairs is the living room

(the moss balls are pictured below like i promised)

the left doorway of the wood burner is the stairs and the kitchen, to the right is 2 bedrooms and the bathroom
that brown door leads to abby's room... more to come.

squirrel squirrel shake your little tail...

a few weeks ago Tyson found a squirrel while he was at work. he thought it was dead. so naturally he touched it (with his work gloves on of course). what a boy. it was freezing out that night (because in utah it snowed 4 times in may where we live) and when he touched it, it moved a little so he took it in the car and let it warm up a bit (rabies= scarry i know). it started walking but its eyes didn't open for hours- truely a baby. and this whole time he's talking to me on the phone telling me to google things so that this poor animal doesn't die. so he gives it pedialite with a dropper and the next day i go get it some puppy formula (yes that's what your supposed to do, and it about 6 bucks a can). after about a day tyson was so attached he'd let it stay in his shirt constantly and crawl around, haha. then we found out it was illegal to have them as pets and it's not like we planned on keeping it bought it a cage or anything. apparently they're really crappy pets (i believe it). they're awesome for about 6 months and then they start acting crazy like the squirrels at the park and get out of their cages and burrow holes in your walls and so you set them free, but they don't know how to live in the wild, so they die... sad day. our squirrel, olivia, was only 5 weeks old so she was very nice. a couple days later we took it to a habitat in ogden by that dinosaur park that raises them together and sets them free. they told us that he was most likely kicked out of his family for being half the size he was supposed to be. sad.
so that's our long squirrel story.

for fathers day

for fathers day i made my dad an apron. lame, i know. but i just had the idea and did it. cowboy material suits my dad. oh and happy fathers day to all you dads out there! and thanks to my wonderful honey for all he does even though im not with him for this day... and i hope he's using the bike helmet i got him.lol.

Summer is here!!

Right now abby and i are having a wonderful time in texas with my parents. yay. it was a late birthday present since i couldn't really leave during the school year. i'm glad to inform you that i survived teaching P.E. and i learned a lot. i'm honestly sure i don't want to teach PE to elementary school kids ever again (but it wasn't bad it just wasn't for me). And i'm not sure i want to be a teacher anymore either.... i thnk i might rather use my degree editing or writing for a newspaper, although i hope to not have to make that decision any time soon because i want to be a stay at home mom as long as i can. :)

she really likes swimming and her birthday pool, i just couldn't get a good pic.
she insisted on sleeping with her baby doll, the one at my parents.
sorry i don't know how to turn the picture, abby with aunt jordan
she loved sticking her head in these fountains... i'll have to take her to the fountains at gateway in sl.
At the dallas world aquarium... it was awesome (and indoors :).
Abby with a penguin in the background. she liked it when i pointed out all the animals to her like the monkeys and sharks and seeing the otter do tricks but i think her favorite was either the huge seaturtle or some of the bright birds...or maybe the punguins because she tried to get in their cage.
